Letzter Schultag/ last school day

Letzter Schultag

Okay, also das scheint mir jetzt doch etwas verrückt:
Also so richtig in der Schule.

Als Schüler. Also als lernender Schüler.

Last school day

Okay, this seems to be really crazy now:
Apparently I was in school today for the last time. Well, really in school.
As a pupil. Well, as a learning pupil.
Apparently I was sitting in the classroom for the last time and listened to the explanations and storys of the teachers.
Apparently I was sitting next to my classmates for the last time, witnessed my class and shared in my class for the last time, experienced a break for the last time and went home by bus for the last time.
Apparently...
But it didn't feel like the last time.
Ain't I the schoolchild from fifth grade anymore who has still so much time until "Abitur"/ A-levels?
Ain't I the girl form eighth grade anymore who has still not decided which job to do in her later life?
Ain't I the girl from eleventh grade anymore who still thinks not living with the family is so idyllic?
Unfortunately I have to realize one big thing: I am on the cusp of acquiring adulthood. I'm supposed to.
"Abitur" is standing directly in front of me, I have chosen a occupational area and a life outside of  "home" still sounds exciting but is also linked with difficulties.
I'm not longer the person I was in former days.
This is also why my daily routine will change: No school.
